Moved

Building a garden from scratch is easier said than done, but for 15 years that is exactly what we did at Ravendale House.

It was often hard work, but we loved it and the result was our 'blank canvas' of 1998 was transformed into a beautiful and productive garden, which I hope you have enjoyed reading about in this blog.

But tide and time wait for no man and sad to say I am no longer able to give the garden the attention it deserves. It would break my heart to see it fall into disrepair, so the time has come to move on.

I will continue this blog in memory of 15 happy years gardening, but I don't have a garden at the moment so will start by telling the story of the last 9 months, so if you want to read the story from the beginning, please click here.

On Sunday we made our annual trip to the famous Waddington Air Show. I say “annual trip” it’s only the second time we’ve been in the 13 years we’ve lived here, and we’re really cross with ourselves for not discovering it sooner. Hey-ho better late than never.

A  few weeks have now passed and things are improving slowly. A trip to the doctor has thrown more light on my situation. She feels I over-stretched my already frozen shoulder and tore a muscle. Hence the terrible pain. The muscle has now healed, and the pain is much reduced, though lack of movement is still an issue. The good news is, I can use my computer and potter about.

On Wednesday June 8th at around 4.30pm, disaster struck.

Thought it was about time I posted some pictures, just to show this year hasn’t been all gloom and doom in the garden.

The wind is still blowing, but at least it is warm and sunny now, so yesterday we decided to spend the day at the seaside, in Skegness.

Wind, wind and more wind, what is it with the weather this year? It seems to have been windy forever, and I don’t just mean a gentle breeze, it’s been blowing a gale here most of the time.
