Now that’s a question you don’t hear very often, in fact in all my 57 years I don’t think I’ve ever heard it before, and I’ve certainly never said it myself, that is until a couple of days ago.

I love to see butterflies in the garden, sadly there seem to be fewer these days. Strange as it may seem for a gardener, I also like to see caterpillars and often wonder what kind of butterfly or moth they will grow in to.

In 1986 we moved into our first house that had a proper garden. It had belonged to a keen lady gardener who had sadly died, and we bought the house from her son.

On Sunday we made our annual trip to the famous Waddington Air Show. I say “annual trip” it’s only the second time we’ve been in the 13 years we’ve lived here, and we’re really cross with ourselves for not discovering it sooner. Hey-ho better late than never.

I’ve written previously about my old Xmas cactus and how it nearly fell foul of the hard winter. Well it’s still doing quite well, but needless to say I’m giving more attention than normal. Basically that means regular feeds of Baby-Bio.

Here’s a good wheeze which I got from my good gardening chum, Sylvia. Sow dahlia seeds in Spring and treat them as annuals. Pity it’s taken me all these years to do it!
