All our married life Peter and I have liked a nice car. For some people it’s an exotic foreign holiday, for others eating out at fancy restaurants, but for us it has always been owning a good car. Our current one is a Mazda MX5 and we both love it to bits, in fact it’s the 4th MX5 we’ve owned in the the last 20 years, and this particular one will celebrate it’s 3rd birthday in a couple of weeks time.

It’s always a dilemma at this time of year as to when to do the infamous ‘Xmas food shop’. Too soon (to miss the crowds) and the fresh food goes off before the big day, too late and the shelves are bare. One year we left it until Xmas Eve and were pleased to see a relatively empty car park. When we got inside we found out why! No crowds, no queues, no food!!

Today it is exactly 40 years since I started my first job. Indeed it was my only job as things turned out. Little did I know on that November morning that I was starting a life path that would last 36 years, find me a husband and lots of good friends.
