Yesterday was glorious, more like Summer than early Spring. Warm and sunny from first thing, without a hint of wind, which is a refreshing change as it feels to have been blowing a gale for the last 10 days.

Well I couldn’t put it off any longer, let’s face it, I’ve been putting it off for long enough, 12 years to be precise. Now the old tree is gone I no longer have an excuse not to clear out the ditch.

I’d almost given up hope of the chaps coming back to cut down the old tree, but yesterday, just 6 weeks after their first visit, they turned up.

A few days ago I did something really silly, and fell very heavily on my left knee. I won’t go into detail, lets just say it involved black bin liners, but I’m lucky not to have broken my knee cap, as I crashed with my full 9 stone on to the concrete.

Having a garden of this size creates a lot of debris over the years. The green recycle bin provided by the council doesn’t even come close to what we need, so we choose to compost ours or burn it.
