Today I mowed the field for the first time this year with the big mower. Always a tricky time, but I’ll write more of that another day. Suffice to say that after a lay-off of almost 5 months he started first time (just) and ran like a dream throughout.

I had an unexpected visit from a neighbour this lunchtime. She just lives round the corner, but I only met her for the first time yesterday when I rescued her cat. Anyway, after she’d told me that ‘Precious’ was fit and well after her adventure, we went on to discuss the lovely weather and the fact that we couldn’t put off cutting the grass for much longer.

Today we had a parcel delivered. Nothing very unusual in that I hear you say, but we also had a parcel delivered yesterday, and if all goes well there should be another one coming tomorrow. In fact since the beginning of the year we have had 7 parcels delivered, which for us must be a bit of a record.

I’ve always been a big animal lover. Anything from a mouse to a moose and all points in between, I’ve even been known to rescue creepy crawlies from the water butt, I’m just a big softie at heart. As far as domestic animals are concerned, I’m very much a cat person, but I do like dogs, though we’ve never actually had one of our own. I’m telling you this because of what I’m going to write next.
