Today the mistle thrush visited the garden again, the second time in 2 days.

The ‘windfall’ apples from yesterday had disappeared, so I went into the garage mid-morning to get some more. I’d only been back indoors about 10 minutes when he turned up.

I watched through the kitchen window as he had to abort his original trajectory and flight path due to a particularly belligerent blackbird who was seeing off all-comers.

However once he did land, and had taken up his position next to an apple, normal service was resumed, and he pecked away at his prize unfazed.

The one-armed squirrel came for his lunch too.
