Today I sowed my peas, 69 in all with the hope of getting 64. They’re now in the conservatory with the broad beans.

As the lupins have done so well, I’ve sowed another 9 today, and guess what the lobelia have actually germinated too. Better late than never.

There is frog spawn in the pond now, so it won’t be long before we have lots of tadpoles. Trouble is, whilst I was checking this out I noticed the weeds. It was like hairy bittercress world, all with flowers, all getting ready to ‘ping’ off a million seeds.

So that was my next job, trying to weed the more mature plants to stop them from setting seed. I intend to do the rest with weedkiller when the weather is suitable, taking care to avoid the frogs of course.
